FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is it important that concrete is allowed to breathe?

Answer:
When concrete with excessive amounts of moisture is coated with a dense surface layer (such as epoxy or other surface sealers), this creates a barrier for moisture in the concrete to escape out into the air. The concrete slab stays wet below the surface, resulting in mold growth.

Why must the application temperature be between 41° F (5° C) and 83° F(28° C)?

Answer:
With temperatures of less than 41° F, the absorption and drying of the Condry is affected, at temperatures above 83° F, the heat will evaporate the water in the Condry before it has penetrated deeply into the capillaries of the concrete.

Why must the concrete be clean before treatment?

Answer:
Any grease or dirt (or any other material, such as paints) on the concrete surface will prevent Condry from penetrating sufficiently to protect the concrete effectively.

Is there any kind of concrete that is not suitable for a Condry treatment?

Answer:
Condry can be used on all kinds of concrete, both old and new, as long as it’s clean. If the concrete is very porous we recommend to contact our technical department for evaluation.

Why should I apply a small amount of water on the concrete surface prior to applying Condry?

Answer:
Water is a carrier of the small particles in Condry. If the concrete is too dry, the Condry material may stratify on the surface and not penetrate deeply, which will limit its effectiveness.

How much moisture / steam is able to escape through the treated surface of concrete?

Answer:
It depends on concrete quality. Very porous concrete (screeded, not troweled) will allow more moisture to escape, very tight, hard troweled concrete will allow much less.

How much Condry is used in treatment?

Answer:
Total consumption approx. 0,25 litre/m². (Could vary depending on the concrete quality.)

What is the shelf life for Condry?

Answer:
3 year in unopened package, once opened 2-3 months, when stored between 41°F (8°C) – 77°F (25°C).

What equipment do I need to apply Condry?

Answer:
Spray Pump, mop or paint roller. Gloves and eye protection.

How do I clean the tools I equipment after treatment?

Answer:
By simply rinsing with water.

Why use Condry instead of epoxy?

Answer:
Condry is pre-mixed so none is wasted. Condry has a much faster drying time than most other sealers. Condry is non-toxic, environmentally friendly and safe.Condry does not trap moisture in the concrete, but allows it to “breathe”.

Does Condry help against emissions?

Answer:
This depends on the emission. Contact our technical department for evaluation.

Does Condry give off any emissions?

Answer:
No!

Does Condry have any environmental classification?

Answer:
Yes, see references!
